Kicking it Off - Welcome to my Blog

Updated: Jul 31, 2021

After much deliber- well, more like procrastination, I've decided to create a personal website to share my works and thoughts all in one place. My main motivator is to have a direct channel to provide my insights as someone's who's experienced many cultural and educational environments through the years. I also have experience in digital marketing, so I want to highlight my projects and see how my skills improve over time.

My portfolio features designs that I make for the clubs that I help run on campus. College Leap is a nonprofit founded at UC Berkeley that provides leadership, mentorship, and volunteering opportunities to community college students. As President of the IVC Chapter, I coordinate social media posts and supply many of the designs we share (@collegeleapivc). Secondly, I am the Meeting Coordinator of Business Leaders Society which involves being the first point-of-contact with our guest speakers and maintaining our social media platforms. This has led me to rapidly master all that Canva has to offer. I even led a workshop on it this month - it's crazy how much you can do with such a simple but versatile tool!

My blog will focus on transfer advice, networking tips, as well as career advice. Being only nineteen, I will be able to offer a fresh perspective on the job search process and guide students who are following a similar path. My upcoming posts will focus on tips specifically relating to IVC (classes to take, professors to connect with, extracurriculars to get involved in) and my transfer journey at large. I also want to reflect on my own educational path that spanned three countries: Ukraine, U.S., and Germany. Hopefully, these reflections of mine will resonate with ESL, AESL, and international students.

Stay tuned for posts on these topics and more! I hope to make this blog a robust reference source for many of my fellow transfer students and help as I can along the way.
